The strainer basket is designed to facilitate the priming of the pump and suction line. It is not intended to remove air from the suction line. This trap will also work as a strainer basket to trap leaves and debris. This larger basket allows you more time between basket clearing. It holds over five times more trash than usual pump strainers. Use when your pump is mounted above the water level.
